The OG! This was my very first design for the K series. The tank sits just in front of the intake camshaft sensor and now includes a brace to support the tank.
The swirl pot starts with a beautifully machined 6061-T6 flange that incorporates the largest port possible within the OEM gaskets footprint, a 1/2" NPT water bypass port, and machined o-ring groove for the OEM gasket. You can choose to have a 1/8" NPT sensor port added directly to the top of the neck (near the logo) or the side (under the outlet) as well as choose from a number of accessory bung options on the tank.
I prefer this version if you have the space, because the outlet is far enough back to make hose routing a little less stressful on you as well as the product. If the product is being used in a harsh environment, I recommend you add the plinth option to help spread the load/ weight and vibration on the bracket as well as help fight some of the tugging force from bad upper hose routing. It is also a good choice for traditional side entry plenums with a large throttle body. The outlet can be moved wherever you want but the most popular choices are listed. The outlet itself can be configured for standard hose (1.25" OD) or -16 male flare.
NOTE: Made to Order - Contact for ETA - If you are interested in a specific design that varies from this, please email us at info@vk-garage.com and if you have questions related to the configuration or options. The cap bung has a 1/16" NPT port for connection to an overflow and uses early model Honda radiator caps; such as an 88'-91' Civic/ CRX or 90'-93' Integra. If you are using AN lines, I recommend designing the upper radiator hose so that there is droop/ give... so the engines movement and does not push/ pull on the radiator and fatigue any parts.
The hardware kit includes a 1/2" NPT water bypass hose fitting, a stainless hose clamp, a 1/2" NPT plug, two stainless M6 socket head bolts, and a Genuine Honda gasket. The tank is welded so that it sits level when bolted to an engine leaned back 15° (OEM position) for the traditional option and leaned forward 8° (intake side) for the gangster lean mount option. The intake cam sensor must be swapped out for the angled version found on the K24's.
